I was prompted by the topic about gas masks / protection masks to post this. Very helpful in clearing up the two terms that often get thrown around.
do one on a tank and a Bradley
You can use a clip to load a mag. Therefore, it is still appropriate in a backwards sort of way. Clip sounds cooler. So there. (Imagine the smiley as sticking his toungue out at you)
you could use a clip to load a mad, but once that magazine is full the clip is empty and useless. you might be talking about a lee-enfield or something. in that case, its 2008.Mek-Izzle wrote:

Even in a Lee-Enfield you throw away the empty clip once you use it to load rounds into the fixed magGunSlinger OIF II wrote:

Well that's what CoD2 taught me
so calling it a clip once the clip is used is inaccurate. do push upsMek-Izzle wrote:

Tanks are generally designed to focus on high firepower, high strength armor, and decent mobility. They can be used both in attacking roles (against enemy armor) or as support roles. In recent conflicts such as Iraq, main battle tanks generally are not as useful in close urban areas because although their presence is intimidating they are not as maneuverable as...
Infantry Fighting Vehicles such as the M2A3 Bradley, which are a sort of hybrid of the APC (armored personnel carrier) and the tank. They don't necessarily carry as many soldiers as a "true" APC would, but in exchange they boast stronger armor and much stronger firepower (I remember reading that Bradleys destroyed more tanks in Desert Storm than the Abrams did). They wouldn't be used to take directly on a tank column, but they usually have the ability to protect themselves from tanks (TOW missiles on the M2, Javelin and Dragon missiles on the M3). They have an autocannon that is very good in disabling light armor, buildings, and infantry. They are smaller and more maneuverable than tanks, making them well-suited to modern urban warfare.
And mek, it's not appropriate at all calling that black thing that goes into the underbelly of an M4 a clip is wrong
edit: Mek in some guns like the M1 Garand the clip essentially is the magazine. You put the clip in an internal magazine. But with pretty much any modern gun, a clip is simply used to quickly load a magazine.
