The reticle is drug across the target and the trigger pulled just before (or just as) the centerline crosses over the target.
The game engine builds in an accuracy variance when a handheld weapon reticle is relatively stable to emulate real world variances due to wobble, breathing, wind, etc.
I believe that by dragshooting, part of what is going on is that this built in variance to hand held accuracy is being bypassed by not providing the engine with a relatively stable reticle which triggers that part of the software. The result is that mounted weapon accuracy is achieved with a handheld rifle or pistol if it is timed right.
The other part of what is going on is that a different part of your brain is controlling things without
so much interference from your cognitive processes.
Just my thoughts and opinion on it.
