Is this what we do? Are we that bad? These kids deserve to have a childhood. What are we doing for them? Let's give them the chance. Let's not forget this, our silence is the biggest crime.

Personally I take the view that anyone that is in darfur should be given refuge in other countries, however we shouldnt go into their country. Our interference is the biggest crime, Europe fucked with Africa before, lets not fuck it up even more. Let them progress on their own, you cant force political development.
i've been very active in the darfur situation. I've donated probably around $200 total to organizations. It's not much...but i'm trying.
the reason the US government doesn't get involved is because there are no benefits in helping them. In Iraq we can at least get oil...maybe.
i'd hate to get rid of your 1337 karma...but +1 for the post.

Of course, I'm not talking of invasion here, but I don't fucking know what we're waiting for here dude. This genocide is being overlooked by almost everyone, including the UN. We should help them asap.Vilham wrote:

Help how exactly? I want specifics.

Why does darfur get all the attention? Having been in that area of the world a few times, this shit is happening all over. Solve darfur and then you will have the next problem to move on to. Once you leave darfur to take care of the next problem, darfur will become a mess again.
...not my problem
Not an invasion like Iraq, I'm talking about help. The UN should be able to do this, but we know it isn't. We could at least send this to all the people we know because many people don't know a shit about Darfur. If everyone knows about this maybe someone important will listen and will help, who knows? Meanwhile, kids die everyday. That's a fucking crime.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

I know Africa is fucked, but are you comfortable with those images? I bet you aren't. I'm not either.usmarine2005 wrote:

things like "save darfur" bother. Are people so vocal about this issue because they really want it to end, or are they just concerned with how good it feels for themselves to voice their opinion.
There is no government strong enough to distribute any aid the rest of the world may give. Any funds, food, supplies or relief effort will be over run by warlords. The only way to help them is to sustain an occupance and effectively remove warlords and hand over a democracy to the people. Apparently the rest of the world doesn't like that...hint hint.
Malloy must go
Honestly who doesn't know about it? The United States is in no position to help. The majority of UN help usually come by way of the US. I think Sudan will only allow AU troops also. That may have changed, I know they were trying to convince them to allow a broader base of support.sergeriver wrote:

I believe we could make a change.
Call it whatever you want, something must be done. I'm not saying this is the US responsibility. This is the UN responsibility. This is the world's responsibility.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

Those people have no peace because they have no justice. Nobody to stick up for them. The only justice that can solve the situation and get rid of the aggressors is hot lead. So unless you support a multi-national full scale invasion, then you are just pissing in the wind.sergeriver wrote:

Adopt a child then. I won't because I don't care. Yeah I said it, at least I'm honest. It bothers me, it saddens me but the corruption and the shennanigans that goes on easily allows me to worry about other things.

People do need help, no one should have this happening to them, and what comes around goes around - pray your turn is not next!
Melodramatics? Now you are being an asshole, man. I'm very concerned about Darfur, Somalia, Palestine, Haiti, etc, and not because I feel good about myself for saying this. When I criticize Israel it's why don't you talk about Africa. Give me a break.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

I used to care until the outrage was too much for me bear that i quit caring. People who really are concerned dont let this shit draw out the way it. its week, its a cop out and I doubt most people who say they care actually do.deeznutz1245 wrote:
