I have a 1,000 word essay on this book due tomorrow and I have not even opened the book since it was issued in late December. Nevertheless I have to do it, although probably only with 250 words, if even that. I need to know what the story is roughly about, so I was wondering if anyone had a good summary of it. It doesn't seem likely that anyone here would've read this book but I gotta at least ask.

- I don't suppose any of you have read "House on Mango Street"
I read it back in the day. It's about a little girl named Esperanza and if I recall correctly it was just a bunch of short stories about her...
turns out the butler did it.
Google books? Wikipedia?

No, her friend (the slut) got raped at the carnival, and esperanza was the one who got mollested at work. It was a bunch of short stories about her life, and each one had a poem-like title.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

But I thought she got mouth raped at the carnival =/ I knew her friend went away with some guy.
sounds like a weird book
I read it! It's the worst book I have ever read. It's made up of vignettes which are short stories. None of the vignettes relate to the others so it's confusing. It's about a girl, Esparanza, and her life on Mango Street, a latino neighborhood
