Good point, we could always try an "Imperius" on Lindsey if she's being too complicated

Haha, I'd be pretty uncomfortable dating a girl whose commitment to relationships doesn't extend further than to allow herself to do the things you're saying that she did with you, but hey, it's your life.

Fyi, whatever you're called, if you're reading this, Victim likes it up the butt, so you better strap up and put in some work.

She's confused because she loves the Lt. but feels, at least something, for her "official"  boyfriend as well, that has absolutely nothing to do with commitment. If she would have dumped one of the two prior to expressing her feelings, you probably wouldn't have any problem with it, but because she hasn't made up her mind yet, you do? She could of course STFU and only let this surface when she's made her decision, but why would that be any better? She would still feel the same and you can't blame her for that; a lot of people change their mind/heart some time, else everybody would marry at the age of 16 and live happily ever after together. If there's anyone that can be accused of a lack of commitment its the guy that flies all over the world in the middle of a crisis.

A relationship is typically built on trust. When you break that trust, you've got a problem. If you absolutely have to be with someone else, break up first so that you aren't wiping your ass with someone else's emotions in the process. That has everything to do with commitment.

But he did NOT do anything initially, she's been completely honest with both guys and whatever she'd done with the Lt., what the Lt. doesn't want to say is, was only after both parties had been briefed.

I realise that you're trying to excuse their romantic relationship, but I guess it's a matter of principle, and mine dictate that you just don't do that while you're involved with someone else.

I'm not saying that in any relation you can just do anything you want, I'm just obscuring the concept of being "involved". What makes you determine that she is involved with the traveling guy and the traveling guy only? Following your line of thought, it would be best for her to dump both guys untill she's made up her mind, but I doubt any of the three would be happy with that. Yes, she has made quite a mess of the whole situation, but that does not mean she's an unreliable partner in any or every relation, like you initially claimed.

Following my line of thought, it would be best for her to stick to one person. I really don't recall claiming anything about her reliability as a partner beyond stating that I personally wouldn't be comfortable with a girlfriend being of principle and diposition allowing her to carry through with what has been described in this thread.

I don't see what you're trying to make me say. My opinion seems pretty simple and straightforward.

The problem is not what you say but what you insinuate, namely that the girl has a particular looseness of character, and you simply cannot provide a straightforward opinion on a non straightforward matter; if she loves both, who is she to stick with? Evidently she should make a decision, but as for now she is in the process of doing just that. Unless you can make the decision for her or provide any other temporary solution that is agreeable to all three parties, I'd rather give her the time she needs than accuse her by means of some innuendo.

I think your perspective is a little limited here. I'm not insinuating anything, there's no innunendo, I'm simply presenting my take on the situation. If that to you seems to be insinuating anything negative, then perhaps you interpret the facts as stated to be unflattering towards her.

You're grossly misunderstanding my position here. I have no interest in whether she has conflicting feelings for two or ten different people. I simply remarked that her way of acting on emotion as documented in this thread betrays a trust that's usually established when you enter into a relationship. Whether you choose to keep this trust sacred, or abuse it, is completely straightforward.

Ya, but the thing is, the other party hasn't really been briefed all that much at all..

He doesn't know half of the story.. just that she has "feelings" for me, and that she has been hanging out with me a lot.
