for my computer sciences class (from where i'm typing this now) I need to translate from english into 8-10 different languages.

The Languages are:

Dutch
French
German
italian
Portuguese ---- maybe (if i can find a translator) LAST ONE
Norwegian
Russian
Spanish
Finnish
Swedish

i need to have these translated:

I am making a program that helps travellers learn basic words for the said languages. I used google translator for some, but it doesn't work for some words .

Problem is, that most foreign languages have different ways of adressing certain people.

I.e - formally, or if you do not know the person, you address them in Spanish as "Usted" and in French as "Vous", if you directly translated from English, those translations would not be formal.

Oh and FredFLQ, you made a litte typo there, it's "Je viens de..." not "je vient". But I assume you know that and it's a typo.

yeah that's a lot better (no offense meant).
and as for the 'Grüß Gott' that seems to be more like a Bavarian thing. Quite rare in the other states. If you want to have a more official version, you can use the good old 'Guten Tag'. But 'Hallo' is more than appropriate in this case.
