can't start Bf2 anymore

well, i can't start my bf2 anymore. when i click on the icon to start it, the starting screen appears and then i have a black screen. then my PC throws me back on my desktop. i already reinstalled it but the problem is still there. maybe it's because of my new 22" screen because since i have it i can't play it. got my resolution in windows on 1650x1050 and i already scaled it down on 1024x768 to test it but its still not working.

sounds like you need to update the drivers for your video card

I had the same problem, a clean install of BF2 and unistalling some off the software that came with the monitor sorted it out.
What monitor is it?

Uninstall BF2 -> Delete profile folder w/settings -> update drivers -> install BF2 -> play

You also have to add "+fullscreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900" to the target line just change it to what ever res you are using

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900 +restart 1

Are u sure the "hardware acceleration" is maxed out in screensettings? I had exactly same prob, when i had to decrease acceleration when dealing with a video playback problem i had.

My Xp is in finnish, so im not sure its exactly called "hardware acceleration" in english.

ok bf2 is working now but i cant play it on 1650x1050 because its not avaiable so i tried with "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1650 +szy 1050 +restart 1 in the target line of the bf2 icon on my desktop but it's not working cos he throws me back on the desktop. so can you suggest a good resolution?
