If you've seen any Tool music videos you'll know they are filled with crazy and meaningful imagery/animations. I was listening to one of their latest songs Vicarious, and was excited to hear they made a music video for it. Upon watching this music video (Which is over 8 minutes long) I just became totally lost and amazed at how wild it was.

This video definitely stretches beyond the barriers of NORMAL.

Anybody want to share their explanation as to the meaning of this?

Pretty wild Video.  Thier Live shows are incredible.  The live lasers in the show are sweet. 

2001 Tour was something too,  They had people hanging upside down from ropes, painted in various colors, and people were nude walking on thier hands and feet, heads swaying like the "Schism" Video.  I was front row and looked at one of them and wondered "did I just see that guys balls?" Yes. Yes I did.

The huge screens they have live play stuff like this during the whole show.  Thier videos, like this one, and other videos you won't see unless you go to thier show.

Adam Jones Creates some amazing things, and Alex Grey's work is incredible.

EDIT: As for the meaning, the song itself is pretty self explanatory: People's love of violence and war, but only to watch it safely at home and never wanting to be a part of it.

AS for the video.....JESUS GOD who the hell knows??

I guess it's entirely up to the viewers interpretation.

No, but I remember the people fighting underwater screens, and I had this feeling of "must get out of here" and a little bit of "NOOOOO STOP IT.  YOU! GET ALONG!" luckily, the screen switched over to this nice calming moving blue tie dye  screen. I was like "ahhhh" and everything was good. Until the people starting swing from the ceiling on ropes.

Bingo!

Maynard has a great singing voice. He could practically sing anything with such a good use of his voice. Actually he's extremely good come to think of it.
I, on the other hand sound like a poor version of Keith Flint

I saw the band in Finland at Provinssirock in 2001. They were a bit weeeeird straight after a energetic and drunk crew called Godsmack Drummer in front. Maynard in the back hiding from the sun, wearing as much as speedos and bigass boots. Maynard told everyone to get naked and make babies. Don't know how many did what the doctor told but hey, it's the thoght that counts right? Later that day I tried to find someone to atleast practise with but once again failed. Until 2005 when I found my fiance during Marilyn Mansons gig

Tool is such an amazing band. Most people think the lyrics usually mean things such as drugs and violence, but Maynard usually has a deeper meaning underneath the surface. 46 and 2 is about Jungian theory for instance.
