I know cod2 needs a cd for single player but not multi is the same for cod4?
Yes, CD only required for Singleplayer, Multi needs no CD.

CoD4 is CoD2 with prettier graphics, a different story, and different time era. It is pretty easy to see that.

If CoD4 is a lot like CoD2 in everything else, such as server browser and crosshairs, it can be presumed the game would function similarly in this area, too. I would be interested to see the code commonality between the two games.S.Lythberg wrote:

Do you need to insatall it without a Cd drive? Cause you need the disk to install it. But after you install you don't need it to play it. Or you can purchase it off of Steam to not need a CD.
I was asking because i have the game but no dvd rom drive to install it in! I was going to borrow my bros drive but since i wanna play singleplayer aswell i am going to get a new drive off newegg.nukchebi0 wrote:

It does remind me a lot of the quake 3 engine games that I played in terms of browser and the way it connects (setting up game, waiting for players, waiting for challenge etc etc) (CoD2 was a q3 engine game).nukchebi0 wrote:

You are mistaken. Call of Duty used the Quake 3 engine. Call of Duty 2 has its own engine. But I agree a lot of the textures look similar to COD 4.SharkyMcshark wrote:
