Hey everyone.  First of all, I've been gone for quite some time so hello again!
I just built a new computer the other week (specs to follow) and installed BF2 to play it again after a long hiatus.  It ran fine.  Then all of a sudden, I got a "Your CD-Key is not valid" error upon trying to join games.  Also, my account password, which I had set to save, changed to something that was incorrect, and when I fixed it, it stopped getting saved when restarting the game.  I reinstalled the game twice and it still said my key was not valid.  Finally I found a fix that suggested typing the key manually into the registry, and it worked.  However, my key is not encrypted in the registry now, but as long as it works it's ok as far as I'm concerned.
The account password will still not save though.  It's more of a nuisance than anything else, but it's weird that it happened all of a sudden on a working installation.  I feel it might be part of a bigger problem somehow.  I haven't had any other issues that I've noticed though.

Specs:
Asus M2N 570 SLI Deluxe
Athlon X2 6000+ (at stock 3 GHz)
GeForce 7900GS x16 (12/20/2007 drivers)
2GB DDR2 800MHz OCZ Gold
Windows Vista Ultimate
BF2 running as admin, NOT in compatibility mode (tried in both SP2 and no compatibility, didn't seem to make a difference)

Interesting... I think logging out without quitting fixed it.  My password is now saved as far as I know.
