Look, I've been looking for hours on what this officer and enlisted rank thing means, so ill just ask. What does it mean?

P.S. If your just gonna say look at some threads then please don't. I cannot bring myslef to go through another painful hour looking through all those useless threads, just tell me.

P.P.S. If you hadn't gussed im referring to the 1.2 patch.

Please help me!

it means we will get new ranks like 1st lt, col, etc at different point requirements...i think 2nd lt will be at 45k and things will move up from there

Sheesh, general requires all vehicle badges on expert. I don't really plan to play that many combined hours in jets, choppers and transport. o_O

i think 2lt was at 200k before, now it's at 75k(?), right(not totally sure, some feedback would be nice...)

If sgt major of the cour is at 45.000, major sargend should be at 30.000.

I hope so. I understand that they need to give the people without a life (those who have 1000+ hrs. & 200 000+ points) a challenge, but they made it so that normal people can't keep up. I have 23 588 points & just over 200 hrs. of game time (and my friends think I have no life) so my next step was at 50 000. My friends only have between 1500 - 11000 points. They hate the fact that others have all the unlocks and think it's not fair that the ranks are so far apart. It takes them "forever" to get anywhere with the game. In a lot of ways, BF1942 was better because anyone could pick up the game and have fun (no "unfair" weapon advantage).

Well i dont agreed. If you dont get anything for a promotion whats the point of getting a promotion besides a cool sign and commander advantage.

i just hope they leave it like it is, maybe SM a bit lower but not much and then the officer ranks on top of that like on the link i posted earlier.

I think they will make the vehicle badges 15 hours for veteran and 100 hours for expert like they did for the kit badges before. Would make more sense that way anyway, especially since you need them all on expert for some of the higher ranks.

Why EA just put all thoses info on theyr official BF2 site???? i really like to know (im at 17500 pts and would appreciate to know if first sergeant will drop from 20K to a bit less)

but i think those requirements are too small. Theres no sense that General rank is just 200'000. I think that general must be only for NOLIFEBF2-players(im not the one and i won't be) so it should be at least 1'000'000 points 'cause I have now nearly 50K and 1/4 of general soon coming and i haven't played very big time yet.
I hope that theres coming more challenge for me...

but thats only my opinion.

some happen to have college/work and can't afford to spent huge loads of time trying to reach those other ranks.
and anyways your gonna get a lot of challenge anyways, in play time that is, general requires you have everything on gold ( as in badges and such).

why do so many people think the unlock weapons given an advantage it really may only change your tactics or gives you a weapon you feel more comforatable with. There's positive and negatives with any weapon in the game, I have unlocks but sometimes I perfer the standard weapons over the unlocked weapon. rank to me only translates to command which isn't nearly as fun to me as getting in the field and taking out infantry. Theres people that have good stats and a lot of points that are good or just have a lot more time to play (or the infamous padders)

As far as I can tell, they have not changed the lower rank reqs at all. Which is stupid because you have inconsistant jumps between the ranks.

ie: 8000-> 20 000 -> 50 000 -> 60 000 -> 75 000 -> 90 000 -> 115 000 -> 125 000 etc... ?????

Why the hell did they keep a huge gap between the Gunnery Sergeant / First Sergeant / Sergeant Major, but only have a small jump to 2nd Lieutenant and so on ????

Another fine screw up from EA...
