im using trial right now since i got new comp..downloaded it on last comp then got new comp after the trial was over

is it illegal to not have 1?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. It doesn't really matter if you have it or not, it just bothers you about the stupid license every time you open any WinRAR windows. You can live with it if it lets you use this otherwise wonderful piece of software for free.

Or you can go deep into the operation files and try to figure out how to disable the message.

k here is the deal u dont really need the license for winrar i been using winrar same trial version for over 2 years or so, and I have not had a problem. Whenever I try to download something with winrar all I have to do is click cancel when the new winrar pop up shows up suggesting that I get the license and register. Just keep hitting cancel and you will have no problems keep using the same version no need to reinstall it or get a new version every time it expires just do that. They let you do everything its not like after 30 days they lock the system and wont let you use it, they still let you use its just up to you if you want all of the components of winrar which costs money.

Well, I just checked the WinRAR site and it says it's a trial, but I haven't encountered any limitations/whining yet. It's in the download list.

I use the command-line one on Linux mostly, but you can also use it on Windows.
