Anyone ever play MOHAA? That's like a 6 year old game and still better than some new games.
Just get over it. BF2 is now full of twats, believe it or not. CoD4 is my game.Longbow wrote:
If you suck\get owned\pwn3d\TK'ed etc at the game that doesnt mean it suck. Things you described above are 5-10% negative percents of overall gameplay experience. And teamwork DO exist in BF2 (even on public servers), in CoD4 it is non-existant.r'Eeee wrote:
BS 2 sucks. There are vehicles teamkilling, squads point whoring, commander arty whoring, teamwork in your dream.
and who cares of points anyways? I've never cared, though still get into top5 every round I play...
Go play your ACS, you wouldnt understand what BF2 is about anyways.Exept for Wake and Karkand, BF2 has 26 other maps to play.r'Eeee wrote:
Hell yea - Whoring the carrier at Wake and not letting the Americans do shit. I guess that's what I call whoring.
End of thread.
Yes, yes I have..Sup wrote:

All new games are shit.
TF2 - shit and overhyped
ET:QW - Shit and overhyped then dropped and ignored
CoD4 - Fun then shit and overhyped
Crysis - Shit and just shit
Only good online FPS: CSS. It's because retards have internet connections now. That and game designers are getting lazy. Fuck you world everything is shit now I'm going to go kill myself.
TF2 is all shotgun and rocket spam. There isn't a single gun in the game that is a 'normal' firing gun. Flamethrowers, grenade launchers ect. There is one gun I would call "normal" and it's shitty and undpowered.
ET:QW... It's alright I guess. Hardly anyone plays it in aus.
CoD4 WAS fun for the first 3 days, then when you find out that any old shit cunt can get heaps of kills because you die so easily it gets old. That and all game modes bar TDM suck and the respawn system is incredibly shitty.
Crysis. No explanation needed. All graphics with no gameplay.
In a lot of ways I have to agree. Newer games just aren't up to my expectations, and no time in the last year have I even considered buying a new game.
As far as FPS go, BF2, BF1942 and CS 1.6 are still my personal favourites.
I haven't played it in years but Diablo II was awesome and there is nothing out of that style of game that can top it.
I want to try GTR2 as I've heard its really good, but the multitude of other racing games I have played are fun for a while but none have given me the enjoyment NFS 5 Porsche challenge did.
The best RPGs come from the 90's in Baldur's gate and Baldur's gate 2 or even further back to Betrayal at Krondor, and I was so looking forward to Baldur's gate 3 until it got canned. The RPGs sinc have just lacked something.
As far as Strategy, AOE II, AOM (to an extent), StarCraft and WarCraft III all beat the modern strategy games hands down, and I found Rome total war much more enjoyable then Medieval II total war, though they were both fun.
The GTA series keep impressing, but for all SAs extra content it failed to deliver a decent main story line, but looking forward to GTA IVs release on PC.
looking at the 'Top 2008 game releases" there doesn't seem much on the horizon I will be willing to purchase. So all in all, I have to say that generally newer games seem more aimed quick profit rather then extended game life.

That's why TF2 kicks the shit out of you. It is not "normal" as Valve realized that normal is for fags.gene_pool wrote:

Some games are just classy, Quake series, C&C series (pre-generals, yes, even renegade was leet), BF1942, etc.
Wow dude that brang back some memories I remember those days I was 2-3 now i'm 18 hahaha good times, even Super Mario World and The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past. +1jsnipy wrote:

Actually, BF2 is now alot worse than any of the newer games. It's full of idiotic twats you just can't play with. CS: Source is about just as bad, 1.6 is worse and, well, ET just always plain sucked.

Yeah, most games now are being made to be fun for 2 or 3 months, then ditched so a new $50 game will come out so the companies can make more money. Its not so much good game play anymore, but pretty graphics and sound effects.

True, 2142 was the epitone of "Wow this sounds awesome".:ronin:.|Patton wrote:

2 weeks later
"Well I'm bored again"
You hit the nail on the head. CoD4 while semi fun is apparently designed to be incredibly fucking boring after a few weeks of gameplay. More shit games are being released than good ones. CoD4 was decent, ETQW sucked, Frontlines is the worse fucking game this decade, 2142 sucked, Crysis MP sucked, TF2 was kinda fun, and most games coming out are shit or boring. No "good" long lasting games are being designed which really sucks for the gamers..:ronin:.|Patton wrote:

The fact that Diablo II LOD & FF XI are still in the gamefaqs top 10 PC games says that games just can't hold their popularity anywhere near as long as some of the older games. Admittedly, LOD is probably the best game in its category and FF XI is probably filled with fanboys but still. And Brood War was in that list for the large majority of the time the game has been in existance.
I will say that all FPS need to be a lot longer then they are. COD4, Crysis... are all way to short. When you consider how long some of the older FPS were it's quite discouraging. They should concentrate less on flashy graphics and more on innovation and longer game play. Unless the game is purely online (ie BF2) then you can't claim that the multiplayer is extending the gameplay. Or at least not in the same way as a good/long/decent storyline brings.
Personally i'm not a fan of the COD4 multiplayer and much prefer that of BF2. Nothing is more fun then paddling/knifing one of the many people mentioned above that are supposedly ruining the game. TF2 was fun to start off with but got mediocre quickly (Except for the spy class). I haven't heard anything good about the Crysis multiplayer. And i've always hated the CS/CSS games because they seem to have a personal vendetta against me for some reason.
Well all you can really do is hope that the next big thing will live up to its hype. Although the better a game is the more hype it receives and the more it is criticised for being over-hyped.
