Is there something better than the default Windows defrag program? It takes over two hours to defrag my newer computer, and there is no progress bar, so naturally I would like something better.

i dont think anything would speed the process up per say ... but other like diskkeeper do a better job by consolidating directories and moving the page file to more optimized spot on the platters.nukchebi0 wrote:

it shouldnt take 2 hours... how much memory do you have? do you do any rendering?
and diskeeper is really good... its a more powerful version of the defrag that comes with windows...

The windows defrag program is actually based on Diskeeper software Diskeeper FTW. Diskeeper 10 > All older and newer Diskeeper versions.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
