Ok so i ran a test for battlefield 2 on www.nzone.com and it showed that i could run bf2 all the way the full bar for performance was filled up. So i decided to max out most settings and guess what i cannot do it. It's understandable but a long time ago about 1 year to be exact i was able to run battlefield 2 at max settings which for my system specs is crazy but now it does not for some weird reason. No error message or anything it just lags like crazy.Any suggestions on what might be wrong or any tips on improving my system performance will be appreciated thanks

System specs:

intel pentium D dual core 2.8ghz
ati radeon x1300
2 gb gddr2 ram 800mhz
500gb hd 10000 rpm
27" hdtv running bf2 at 1600 x 1050
fresh windows xp install

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Your graphics card is a bit dated.  Give us a price range and we can help you upgrade.

Might help to clean-up ypur HDD as much as possible.

Delete everything you don't need & defrag.

Is the 27" monitor/TV new?  I can only guess that you might not have been running BF2 on full high settings before, or that you previously had a smaller monitor and that allowed you to run the game smoother at a lower resolution.  Otherwise, I'm stumped.  I still recommend a new video card if you can spare the money though.

did you install any new programs, scan for viruses, and even maybe clean out your case and stuff cause it sure can get dusty in there.

You should formate computer, and install only what you really need (no extra shit).
Formate is really good thing to do once for a while, and of course defragment afterwards...
