The mobo and case are both ATX, so they'll work together, obviously. I'll check some other stuff.

EDIT: Yes, the processor works too. So does the video card and the fan.

Looks good to me.  One thing I don't know about are the specs on the power supply.  It doesn't give them.  One thing that may be better is getting a case with no ps and getting a ps that you know all the specs on.

All it says is 500w.  For a case that only costs 30 something, It must be cheap.

hard drive is incompatible with the in case PSU. according to a review on newegg, the case's PSU doesn't have a SATA power jack, and you've listed a SATA drive.

Im guessing this will be a good replacement for his PSU then.

The ram you selected is DDR 800 and the motherboard only supports up to DDR2 667. This means that the ram will work, it just won't run as fast as it could.

well if you have an otherwise decent system, why not just save up another 100-150 dollars and get a good graphics card

Get a different mobo, it doesnt really support ddr2 800, it only goes up to ddr2 667.

4 gigs? Unless you're going with Vista 64, 4 gigs = pointless.

You honestly don't need to build your own computer and you don't need 4 gig of RAM either. Do yourself a favor, get a new iMac. Sure its $1200, about less than half of what you're gonna pay for building your own computer, but its 2 computers in one and you don't have to build it, let alone spend countless hours on tech support with some dude in India with the name of Maverick telling you what you already know. I have the OLDER iMac and I can run everything on high on every game with little (if no) lag. The new ones are dual core Intel processors too which means they will be even better than mine.

Because the 8600 cards are horribly expensive for the little performance they offer. They have the same -if not less- performance as the 7600GS cards. And playing DX10 on that little ammount of power is doomed to fail. Either get a decent 8800 series card, or a 7600/7800 series.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

seriously, don't get the 8600.
If you are on tight budget, get the radeon HD 3850. I don't even have to comment about the performance difference of them. it's fking pwnage....

you my friend are wrong.  a 1200 i mac wil NOT run most if  new game @ high with no lag.  If you're looking for a deal any thing made by Apple is not a choice.
