I thought they failed.

It was basically just a bunch of celebrities pretending they were gamers and making really stupid jokes. They gave out a bunch of pointless awards including Halo 3 as best multiplayer game... ARE YOU DAFT? HALO 3?? Wow, from what i've seen there is almost nothing new about halo 3 online. Call of duty 4 had shooting through walls and a decent rank system... TF2 has lots of classes and cool graphics. But no, halo 3 won.

After watching those i had an idea though. We could do a sort of BF2s VGA, where you guys come up with awards, we select nominees, and then I make polls to decide the winners.

Halo 3 multiplayer is actually pretty good from what I've seen but realise that the game caters to people who really have very little know-how of how the internet works. Hence you have the matchmaking service which ranks you on your recent ability. The gameplay balance they've given it since Halo 2 (which made Karkand grenade spam look like a match of Clean Sweep infantry only) is nothing short of immense. I probably would've given my vote to Halo 3 even though I like TF2 a lot. Halo 3 has done a lot more to cater to every single possible kind of person than any other multiplayer game this year while adding so much more for the console crowd which is no mean feat.

Oh and yeah I like the idea for a video game awards.

Bf2s VGA would be pretty cool.

The Spike VGAs suck (and have sucked) every year. It's always "Yo yo, PS3! Halo!"

Yeah I heard about Halo 3 getting best multiplayer. Bullshit. The only reason why it got it is because it's so popular, and for retarded reasons. If more people played CoD, they'd all convert to it and leave Halo in the dust. Don't get me wrong, I like Halo 3, but CoD4 surpassed it in every way possible.

And I think the Bioshock getting game of the year is appropriate. Even though it doesn't have multiplayer, it's story is so damn immense and it really captures you. CoD4 does that, but not as well as Bioshock does.

The people who decided on Halo3 for the Spike VGA are not professional game critics, they are just n00bs who bought Halo3 and none of the other games because XBox360 is the best selling console amongst Spike's demograph (drunken frat-boys) and Halo3 is the only good game to come out for it this year. All professional video game critics despise the Spike VGA for no other reason than it is this whole "YOU VOTE!!!" nonsense, and good games usually sell less than shit like Halo3, which is identical to Halo2 but with more weapons and better graphics which in turn was identical to Halo1 but with more weapons and better graphics.

Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, Orange Box, Bioshock, GH3, Rock Band, none of those are good games? Or did you mean 360 exclusives? (which would mean only Mass Effect counted off that list)

Agreed! I love the GH series, but Rock Band excels in replayability and general fun level.

I have. I still remember the first level of Halo: CE when you're on the Pillar of Autumn and you get the pistol. Badass.

It's a shame that the majority of teenagers don't even play the campaign and just get it for MP. It really is. The only reason it's as popular as it is now is because of that.
