What people laugh at is the fact that she believed Europe is a country. And that they speak french there. And she didn't know whether France is a country. And she'd never heard of Hungary.

I think it is less important to know the capital of all the states than say the capital of countries. I live in Canada, and I haven't bothered memorizing the capital of all the states.
