Battlefield has been working up until today when I tried to load and the desktop went black as usual before starting, but this time it went black but then back to the desktop. It does this every time and refuses to work. Anyone know the problem?
Could be for loads of different reasons.
First try and rename the Battlefield 2 folder, found in My Documents, to "Battlefield 2 old"- this folder contains all the basic settings for BF2, and if the game doesn't find a "Battlefield 2" folder in My Documents, it creates another, and redetects all the settings.
If that doesn't work, try checking your drivers.
You could also try repatching the game, but if that doesn't work you need to do a manual reinstall- check the http://support.ea.com site for steps on how to do this.

its weird because one day it will work and the next it wont
i have tired that and uninstalling and reinstalling but the problem remains
ok i had this problem like a month ago and this is how i fixed it. i deleted my 'My Documents> Battlefield 2' folder then i uninstalled and deleted my 'Program Files> EA GAMES' folder. Then i reinstalled and it worked. been working ever since. Hope it helps
