which is bullshit. wasn't our fault, my dumbass friend who is of age was being loud as hell in the apartment, so we kicked him out. he was being loud outside, he got the cops called on us for a noise complaint, cops saw his beer on the table, and we got MIPs.
so, i go in today for a job interview. guess what i'm doing..working for Glaziers, a nation-wide beer distributor. i get to drive to sweetwater, colorado city and snyder delivering beer part time for 8 bucks an hour. perfect job considering my college hours. they've got to run a background check, so i told them that i got a MIP, they said "no big deal, we're just worried about DWIs and child molestors." for that brief moment, i was relieved. i told them i was going to take care of it today and will come back to sign the release papers for them to do a background check.
me and my roommate went up to the municipal court, talked to a judge and was convicted. was thinking no big deal, a hefty fine and some community service hours, along with a class. yep. no big deal until the judge said "and it's a state mandate to suspend your drivers liscense for 30 days." WHAT!! now THAT is bullshit! i can deal with all that, but the liscense deal is absurd. i wasn't driving. i was sober, nothing to drink, got in trouble for my "friend" who had a beer left over here at the apartment! i was sitting on my ass playing FEAR when the cop came over. hell i haven't driven my car but once in the past 3 days! bullshit!
now that i'm getting a job that requires me to drive long distances, this is definately going to be a problem. i do not agree with this whole legal system...anybody out there knowlegeable on the law? i'd like to know what could be done to reduce the punishment and get my liscense back.
