but even a hybrid can't get close to 95mpg.
much less 4.something 0-60, 12.9 1/4mile, 1+g's.

the tesla is an awsome car, and if I had $100k sitting around I'd probably reserve one along with the solar cells to make it a footprint free car. However, the tech is brand new, manufacturing the batteries is an absolutely filthy process, maintainance and service will likely be astronimically expensive.

the reason I'm so interested in the car in the OP is that it is basically built on existing technology. yes it uses fossil fuel, but it is purportedly very clean and very efficient. It not my favorite car to look at, but at 95mpg with a range of ~1000 miles, I could care less.

I'm all for the hybrid cars. and i think they look kinda cool in a Space:Odessey kinda way.
My dad has a Prius, and it's a great car. nice and roomy/comfy.
Though he always rags the shit out of it on the motorway and so only gets about 30miles/litre then
