Now that would be Scouty's Mod Dbss is talking about. It's great fun, it removes a few limitations regular bf2 has.
Two of which are:
ObjectTemplate.velocity 1000
ObjectTemplate.timeToLive CRD_NONE/1/0/0
(for all sniper rifles that is)
Which means that a M95 bullet would never go past a range of 1000m (maybe ±10m due to a simulation interval of a few milliseconds).
Also the BF2 range indicator has a step-size of 3m. So that's ±3m again.
So 1005m? Possible, but not likely. 1050? Not possible, no matter how high you jump.

I made a pretty long shot practicing, and thanks to =HOG=Bull3t it was recorded.
Now I dont know if its the longest shot in Bf2 history, but It may just be
As far as I'm concerned, practise shots are hardly part of 'BF2 history'. How about you make a legitimate kill at that range?

I don't want to know how you have to aim that you hit at 995 meters.
Awesome shot....
Simple. Spot the enemy, place an attack order on him using the zoomed map, adjust for bullet drop, start spraying.
Of course, it comes down to even more sprayage with the M95, it has horrendous deviation compared to the L96A1.
