I remember that. That was the Army's motto from sometime duringt he 90s, right?GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

Personally, "The Few. The Proud" is the best CATCHPHRASE.
In terms of the videos, the SEALs infiltrating the beach is pretty damn cool too.
Im old school. It was actually one of the most successful advertising campaigns in history. From the 80's through the 90's up until 4 months after I enlisted. They changed it to "Army of One" when I was 3 months in OSUT training. Everyone thought it was gay. Its didnt last more than 6 years and now its Army Strong, which seems to be blowing "Army of One" out of the water.cowami wrote:

I hated those fucking Army of One commercials. The guy is running around the Fort Irwin desert, by himself, out of uniform, with his dog tags hanging out like hes back home on the block. If that were real life, the smoking session he would recieve would do the opposite of what recruiting commercials are trying to do.
This one is lol
And my personal favourite

I think the Army and Marine ads potentially are more persuasive.
I like the Navy and Air Force ones though.

Based on advertisements alone, I would have to say Marines. I have never had any desire to enlist in the Armed Forces, except when a particular Marine commercial was being aired. The commercial I'm talking about is the one where the guy is talking as a beach is being shown at night. You can see the beach because the moon is out but some clouds cover it up and it's pitch black for a moment and when the moon comes back out, you see footprints in the sand that get washed away by the tide. I thought that was the best advertisement. I'll post a video of it if I can find one.
Depends on who you work for.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

The Army ad is so corny, its riddled with Clichés.
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
I think the Brit forces have better slogans.
Army: Be The Best
RAF: Rise Above The Rest (and the newer one) You Don't Need To Be A Pilot To Fly In The RAF (but that's mainly for the new TV adverts showing the thousands of jobs in the RAF other than Fast Jet Pilot)
Royal Marine Commandos: 99% Need Not Apply
Can't remember the Navy one offhand and i can't spirit up YouTube vids because i'm at work
EDIT:
Royal Navy: Life Without Limits
Also, the RAF catchphrase has significant meaning because the initials R.I.S.E. form the core ethos of the Royal Air Force:

Wow, that newer RAF line sounds horrible! I guess you could do worse by saying, "Join the RAF, but don't fly anything cool!"
I like the Army one moreBuckles wrote:

Duty - Fulfill your obligations.

Selfless Service - Put the welfare of the nation, the Army, and your subordinates before your own.
Honor - Live the Army Values.

Personal Courage - Face fear, danger, or adversity, both physical and moral.
I really like that Air Force one! Awesome thread man. I have made a British version here head on over to vote!

I never got the whole "accelerate your life" deal.
I mean... by going faster.. doesn't that mean that you'll die more quickly.
Always seemed like a stupid advertisement to me.
