I'm taking a CAD class this fall. Can someone who has taken a CAD class give me an idea of what to expect? Maybe a bit of helpful hints on what I'll need. Thank you in advance.
Depends on what CAD.
I remember Autocad 12, 13, 14, then 2000. That's all I ever got through. Pretty simple program to use actually. Learning the basics is really easy, simple commands, etc. Drafting 3-D plans gets a little trickier, but its so worth it.

Thanks KEN. Not sure of what Autocad it is.
I had a short course in Grade 9 with AutoCAD. Hard to grasp, but it's fun to create things. I'm taking the class again next year.
I prefer using ProDesktop over AutoCAD. Not that I use either of them any more ...
AutoCAD is relatively simple (the basics, anyway).
Click one point to start a line, drag or type in a length and move it to the correct angle, press enter, voila! You has a line!
And remember: when you don't want to trim, and need to connect two lines that are at an angle to each other, use "fillet". Saves you the effort of trimming every line.
EDIT: <3 not having to use AutoCAD anymore.
