Attention Soldiers!
Today we shall learn how to make a simple animation like ones that I have in my sig.
With these techniques, you can do almost anything with animation in Photoshop and you are limited to your own imagination.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before we continue you must have Photoshop and/or ImageReady.
Today we will be doing this:
-First Start off with a canvas.
To do so, you must go to "File" and then to "New". Or simply press "Ctrl+N" for the shortcut"
-Select any size, but within the forum rules which are no taller than 250 pixels and smaller than 150 kilobytes.
I will be using 270 by 140 pixels.
-Pick any background color, I'll be using black. Be sure to create a new layer or press "Ctrl+J", and use the paint bucket tool to color the box in by clicking anywhere inside the canvas.
-Now make a new layer, and pick a hard brush (size 9), with any color besides black. For the tutorial purpose, I made a stick man.
-Now if you want to add text do so.
-We are going to start animating. By default, Photoshop/ImageReady don't have this on, so you must enable it. Go to window and click on animation.
A check mark should appear after and a new window will pop up.
This is your Animation Window, which shows the frames, kinda like a video.
-Make a new frame by clicking on the new frame button.
These work like layers.
-On the new frame you just copied, click on the layer you want to move and move it to the position you want, in this case it is going to the right.
-Now make a new frame and move the layer (the stick man) to where you want again.
By the way, right underneath the frames there is a time option which you can change. This makes the frame change at the time interval you set, I'll be keeping it at zero.
-You can always press the play button to see how the current animation is.
The text looks plain, so we will also animate that.
Click on the second frame and the text layer and set the opacity at any level, just above 50 percent.
-Now click the third frame and text layer and set the opacity at 20-ish percent.
-Playback and see if you like it.
-Now to finish, go to File, Save for web
And under preset use the GIF option.
TA-DA!! We are done!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any questions post them here or pm me.
And show me your results
If you see this in another forum please tell me, I don't like rippers.
