I downloaded many maps over this past weekend to play both in singleplayer and multiplayer modes for BF2, but when I went online to play I couldn't find a single server that uses any of these awesome maps...what's the problem?

I did mess around with the filters to see if I could identified any but nothing worked...I just found a few servers running different mods of BF2 such as the Special Forces and Europe ones but that's about it.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Most servers probably aren't running the maps that you downloaded in their map rotation (since you said you couldn't find many servers), don't know about singleplayer part. BTW what maps did you dl?

Well, I understand that part but I guess the real question is...why would no one be running these maps in rotation when they are available?  I mean after a while playing in the same maps over and over gets boring.

The singleplayer part works just fine, but it's the multiplayer part that I was curious about.  To answer your question on which ones I downloaded....they were many of them and all from the 1st page under the "Maps" section of the Planet Battlefield website.

I'm planning on downloading many more since there is a 2nd and 3rd page that I haven't even touched.  I just hope some of those are available online...if not...I can see myself having more fun playing singleplayer with various maps vs. multiplayer with the same ones.

It could be that the maps aren't popular enough and so servers wouldn't normally put maps on their map rotation that isn't very popular, since they pay a lot of money for their server.

Also you might want to check out some mods for BF2, they are more popular and would probably have servers running the mods. You can check out this site for a list of the top 100 mods: http://www.doomlab.com/bf2topmods/

Yeah, that makes sense and I could understand that and I was planning on installing some of the mods out there anyway, so it's all good I guess.

Thanks for your input
