Does any one have an idea what type of food this is? I'm not sure if this is a real japanese food or not but i've seen it in alot of animes and im wondering what it is.

Its Orange balls about half the size of a golf ball in a perfect sphere shape on a wooden stick i think its desert im not sure but any one what what the hell it is?

I've seen it in Dragon Ball and Samurai Champloo

On many shows food tends to look better than what it really is in real life. 

Do a Google Image search for "Japanese Orange Balls", if you must

Well in the episode of dragon ball i remember master roshi saying something like "you have time to stuff you're face with sweets"

and the way i see them eat them in the anime its not hard candy i think its soft cause they put the whole thing in there mouth and eat it.

Oh well know whos lol.

Might actually be Mochi.

mochi is smashed rice that is made into a paste and you add sugar to it.
Inside the mochi you put sweet red or black beans.

Color of the mochi is dependant upon food coloring of your choice.

They are quite good and I enjoy them as often as I get my hands on them.

In samurai champloo the only thing that comes to mind is dumplings but that's not a dessert really.
