Ingmar Bergman the legendary Swedish movie director has finally lost his chess match with death at the age of 89.
Ranking alongside the likes of Fellini, Kurosawa and Hitchcock, Bergman was widely regarded to be one the true greats of the cinema world, bringing a new level of seriousness to the art form with his exploration of themes such as religion, death and existentialism. Among his many great movies are 'The Seventh Seal', 'Wild Strawberries' and 'The Virgin Spring'
