Greetings members of BF2S. My name is Brian "Neuromancer" Bisson, and I'd like to invite you to visit the latest World League Software gaming system, Battlefield 2 Leagues.

http://www.battlefield2leagues.com

World League Software has been developing the Online League Management System (OLMS) for over three years, and it's been in use during that time for MechWarrior Leagues, a premier league for Mechwarrior-related online gaming. We have now brought OLMS to the Battlefield 2 community (as well as the Counter-Strike community)!

Battlefield 2 Leagues currently supports the following features for your use:

- Unit creating/management
- Ladder competitions
- Online betting on ladders
- Integrated SHOUTcasting (Internet radio) with the Ladders
- Community Forums
- Map Management Console (map database for all types of maps)
- Integrated IRC chat supported by EnterTheGame

There is no cost for the use of this league system. World League Software and it's various leagues are purely supported by donations from members.

Thank you for your time, and the staff and I look forward to seeing you soon at Battlefield 2 Leagues!

Best regards,
Brian "Neuromancer" Bisson

Well, don't let being in another country stop you from joining! Let me explain why.

If there are enough clans/units in Australia, or Germany, or any other region for that matter, we can put up ladders and/or divisions for that geography, so you can compete with others in your region. It's a matter of building critical mass. Let jus say there are 20 BF2 clans in Australia - great! We could put up different format ladders just for Australia!

Now, the matter of servers comes into play. There's been signifcant discussion regarding that. Having really sweet high-speed servers here in the USA isn't going to help Aussie or Euro players that much. However, you guys ARE playing now, yes? What servers do you use now? Do you host/rent your own servers? Are they ranked or unranked?

We've been pondering that unranked servers will be best, and those can be hosted with local resources. There are dedicated server data centers in just about every city on the planet. Some countries have DSL capability that even meets the bandwidth requirements of a 32 player game. Also keep in mind, some of the action we're developing at BattleField2Leagues is small squad sizes - 5 vs 5, or even smaller if there is demand for it. In those cases, hosting an unranked server on a box at your home may even be viable.

So, don't think mainstream! Our league system is so flexible, we can accomodate many ideas, even if you think they are crazy.

Keep in touch, look forward to seeing your input on the league forums.

p.s. I'm also looking into a forum mod on the league website to allow people to add nationality flags to their profile, since the game has quite a bit of global reach!

Just a quick update on BF2L:

We've now registered enough units (clans) to get some of the ladders rolling, and discussions are underway on the rules for those ladders. If you and your clan want to get in at the ground level, and have a serious voice in how the ladders are run, this is the time to do it!

I'm in! (in bf2s team, too, perhaps?)

Finnish clans could join the German ladder if there's gonna be one.

But isn't this like clanbase.com? (*wants another sales speech*)

Unfortunately I'm not in a clan at the moment.. don't tell me "Well, don't let not having a clan stop you from joining! Let me explain why."
