Since he got 24,577 as MECSF it is recorded as his BR for the time in theater's BR for MECSF AND SEALS.

I think we should make a petition to bring that account back - without the bugged round, which was not the fault of him -

If the BF2S community raise against that kind of reseting account, we can make the difference.

By the way, who will play commander if you could find yourself in a bugged round and then you get your account wipped???????

Petitions are documents containing the signatures of people who want something changed. The more signatures... the better. Therefore, If we got 10 people to sign a petition to get your stats back... it would'nt work. If we got several thousands, EA would take the request more seriously. If we got millions, I'm sure they would give them back!

EA does however make it's money through hiring PR experts to study consumer behavior and human psychology to detirmine the most effecient and effective ways produce "created needs." A marketing term that is a euphemism for addiction. It is EA's intent to create a consumer that is so emotionally invested in the product that they need it. Clearly the stats/award system is part of this. Now, if you are going to make a stupid response like "the features are a reaction to consumer demand" or "if he doesn't like it he doesn't have to play it" or "why are you here if it's so bad" then do not even bother replying because such replies would be defensive in nature and would ignore the nuances and reality of one of the largest companies in the largest entertainment market in the world (video games) marketing their premiere product and would fail to address my post.

Though legal basis for lawsuit is non-existant as you said you are wrong about your statement about paying for the game. The game features are advertised, which makes them part of the product. You are paying for the game itself, and part of the game are the features that are advertised before the purchase is made. It would be like buying a television and having your remote repossessed because "you can still operate the TV" even though the remote was listed right on the box when you made the purchase. But hey nice punditry - you did a really great job of making a false analogy between this individual's situation in which he has clearly been unfairly persecuted by the company that he has paid for a service from and your abstract and generalized perception of a supposed pathology in the legal psyche of all americans.

Read the EULA. You'll understand. EA reserves the right to add or take away any functionality. You cannot legally persue them if they decide to remove the noob tube completely. There is no argument. In addition, EA acted in good faith based on the evidence it had before it. Some people tend to believe that EA rushes on judgements, I highly disagree. The whole legal notion is simply stupid to begin with. I mean who in their right mind would sue over online stats in the first place anyways.

(Not to mention EA would have excellent lawyers, hardly something you'd want to mess with as a low income earning commoner)

From what I understand, they won't be able to give you your stats back. I was reading a bunch of comments from BF2RS.com and according to an L3 admin, they don't have the means to restore the stats.

One funny thing I found out.. when someone's stats get wiped, they don't wipe the awards.. you get to keep those. How fucking stupid is that? Isn't that a main contributor to the reason people pad in the first place? Wow.

I think you forgot my opening line there bud but that's ok! Clearly you have a lot of pent up anger at your generalized perception of the pathology in the american public's collective subconscious around law suits. Also remember the guy that was banned didn't suggest a law suit either. I don't remember reading on the box when I bought the game that they could take away some of the advertised features right off the bat. But hey! Whatever, because it says that when you install the game in that section of text that they know nobody ever reads. They wouldn't want you to do something drastic like not get addicted. It's not a matter of EA rushing in on judgements. It's a matter of them probably using some automated tracking system that earmarks players who get anomalous scores and banning them outright. They may not even have a human being reviewing the bans until somebody complains about them thoroughly enough.

If you're aware of the glitch that causes these score boosts than you know that it's involuntary. And if you have common sense you'd realize that boosting your score by tens of thousands of points in a matter of minutes isn't very good. So your insinuation about EA making a contemplative decision which resulted in the right coruse of action is really stupid. Glopje came around knowing something was wrong and fearing a ban after he discovered his score boost. So again, glopje has been unjustly persecuted and I suspect many others have as well due to an involuntary glitch that is EA's responsibility to fix.
