Was on google groups and found this guy who was wanting to get some help on how to lock his computer to stop his kid from playing computer games on it while he was at work.

So all these people suggest different things ranging from taking the power cables away, setting up a bios password, USB locks etc...

but the guy then replys saying that his kid has managed to crack all of these things and still manages to play games.

So i replyed back saying why does he want to stop his kid from playing the games? the kid is obviously very smart to be able to crack the locks, so i dont see what computer games are going to do to him.

When will these pesky parents learn eh!

Lol, I know what you mean. But it sounds like the dads a n00b on computerstuff.
Why disallow it? He'll start playing somewhere else (cybercafes or so). Now you know he'll stay and home and wont get in to trouble or so.
