All right well I have seen a lot of people build/buy new computers over the last few weeks. What do you do with your old rig? There is plenty of cool and useful stuff your old computer can be used for.
I decided I wanted a media center pc. After much debate over whether to build a mythtv box or wmc, I went with the later. I had a old with a 3.0ghz p4 a gig of ram and a fx5200 lying around. I threw everything into the case and "acquired" a copy of vista ultimate. I would have rather gone with a mythtv box, but I was not sure whether my tuner would be supported. I didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to get everything configured when I could just install wmc and be done with it. Here are a few photos of the finished product.
I took a older dell 17in flat panel and mounted on the wall. Also I set up synergy to control both computers with the keyboard and mouse from my gaming rig. Obviously the video quality is not the best with that video card but it works fine for now.
