he comes back, in the book he has kids, one named Albus sever, snape dies too, so does fred weasley, and at the end of the book harry sends his little albus to hogwarts and is telling him about the hat and the little boy wonders if he will get griffindor or not. I think the last sentence in the book is, "(Harry's) scar hasn't hurt him in 19 years" something like that
