Game Lock-Ups

Right, yet more problems with my PC.

Whenever i play BF2, more specifically PR or POE2, I tend to get random lock-ups. I.e, The game just stops. Dead. And i cant tab out of it, i have to manually restart my PC.

Specs you made need: Processor- 2.8ghz Pentium D
Ram - 1 gb

Does this happen on other games? 1GB could be your problem for the likes of PR.. it requires a lot of power!

Nope, just BF2 games/mods. Plus, my old comp, also only had a Gb, and i NEVER had a lockup like the ones im getting.

Your processor is probably overheating and locking up the computer, which is why you cant tab out of it.

^ It is another possibility. Have you checked your temperatures of your CPU etc?

Meh. CPU is running at 40c, how high/bad is this fore a Pentium D?

any quick fixes to lower my cpu temp? im gona buy some funny silver goo like kyle said, but im in a POE2 mood atm so..

40C is fine. The CPU temp is not the problem.

BTW I'm watching this thread with interest because I get the same problem with 2142 and I haven't been able to work it out.

The latest advice I got was to roll back my drivers, but I don't have any old drivers to roll back to.

Oh, odd. I assumed 40c was high tbh. And thats when its running normally, ie now, i don't even know whats it's cookin' at when i'm in-game
