Why do game devs seem to think realism is snail pace gameplay with horrible movement. In ArmA it takes you like 5 minutes just to get your crosshair on one guy and you walk and run like an old lady. People dont walk that slow and it doesnt take a trained professional 5 minutes to get someone in his sights because of a box where the crosshair is like a mouse cursor on the slowest speed setting. They need to get realism right, in any "realistic" game so far its been a one shot your dead, you move like a 500 year old snail, actually getting someone in your sights is near impossible because of the terrible crosshair design in ArmA (at least americas army got that right), and the movement is really clunky and slow unlike how someone would ACTUALLY move. For all this, realism games suck ass because its not realism, its snail pace boring gameplay and unless you enjoy snail pace boring gameplay no realism game would appeal to you.
Well its obvious that you have no clue what your talking about.

First of all. In real life you cannot go into sight mode like you can in games like battlefield 2. Its not a 1 second thought hey ima press my second mouse button and the sights will be perfectly centered at what I was pointing. If you have ever peered down a weapon sight you would know this. Secondly the movement lacks fluidity for a reason. A running soldier with 50 pounds of gear will not be an olympic runner. The imediate zone of fow you can move your weapon freely just like in real life. However to make a 90 degree turn and aim to the side would actually require you to physically turn your body towards the target which explains the delay.

Secondly neither Arma nor Operation Flashpoint was a 1 hit kill or death. If you get hit in the leg you will not die but rather fall down and have to crawl for the duration. Same goes for arms.

Game developers have developed this kind of game for a reason for people who enjoy realism and teamwork. It is not a mindless run and gun game. You cannot rush, you got to take it one step at a time thinking about every move you make because in a split second if your careless and stupid you could be dead. That's why these games are ussualy retard free unlike games like battlefield 2 where nearly every person has some sort of brain handicap.

FOR THOSE THAT HAVE THIS GAME AND WANT A GREAT PLACE TO PLAY IT!!!!

If you've been thinking about checking out the ArmA Interactive tournament, now is the time!

Campaign 1 recently ended. The US 82nd were victorious in Tour 1 and have pushed the Russian army back into North Sahrani. Both armies are on a cease fire while they resupply all units. On Sunday, August 5th, this is where Campaign 2 will pick up. As the 2nd phase of this on-going war continues in the forest and mountains of the northern island, fierce fighting is expected as the Russians set out to take back what they've lost and prove they are an unstoppable force!

Campaign 2 is expected to be the best yet. With refined mission scripting, an improved objectives/capture system and some new surprises still being worked on... it should make for an excellent 4 week long ArmA combat experience.

Some of the features in use, worth checking out:
- We use RESPAWNS
- The Mando missile system
- Resource system (Armies can only fly and drive what they can afford to purchase)
- Up-coming supply line combat system
- BFCO controlled resources (A soldier makes a request, the Commander spawns it in)
- Active UN Admins (They closely watch the battlefield, taking screen shots, recording video and keeping an eye on server health)
- Price? FREE. (Donations are accepted)
- Much more coming soon. The Mod Team is actively testing many new features.
