What motherboard was it? Unless it has PCI Express x16, and your power supply can handle it, then no.

I'm sure most people will tell you to go for a Core 2 Duo instead of the current processor you picked out. Just wait for some techies to come and give you better advice than I can.

Plus, with the Intel Price drops coming soon, I suppose it'd be better to go for the C2D.
