Environment is environment.
Don't cry about the planet having a fever when you are part of the virus that doesn't give a shit about other life forms that share it.
No, it isn't.
A species of fish dying out will not significantly affect peoples day to day lives, the potential consequences of climate change could have a tremendous impact on peoples lives.
Can you not see how the issues are unrelated? It is not a case of environment is environment, that's like saying science is science - there are different fields. One does not have to endorse all to support one.
You just look like a complete asshole when you preach "uber eco friendliness" and then dine on endangered species...
Why?
It's the same as criticising someone who has strong negative views about something like ESCR, but has an experimental heart proceedure. The two things both lie under the broad umbrella of medicine, but the fields are totally unrelated and being critical of one should not have any bearing on the individual taking advantage of the other.
I have never heard Gore speak out about animal preservation (except in the context of species dying due to global warming to illustrate points), if he has done so, then I completely retract my statement - but if this is supposed to reflect badly on him
because of his views on global warming, I find that ridiculous.
