Some guy was searching for a way to cure cancer and he stumbled upon this....

do you think salt water will become the new fuel for automobiles, or do you think the oil companies will buy him out?

now we wont be polluting the earth, but we will be losing a shitload of water.
thats pretty cool though.

He sounded so intelligent too until he called water an element.  Either way, it seems water might be the next fuel source.  It would be nice, but it probably wont happen for a few decades.

thats a really impressive discovery and idea. but of course, for people who dont live near a saltwater lake or the ocean, stations will be set up to sell it. reminds me of bottled water.

like the jim gaffigan skit:
FRENCH MAN: "those americans are so stupid! ill bet we could get them to buy... bottled water!"

AMERICAN: "bottled water! why thats rediculous! ... i guess ill try it."

sorry. i should have gone to bed three hours ago.

ya, unless some big oil company buys his invention to keep it off the market..

That is a very serious threat. If Exxon or something buys that and patents it for 20 years, they could sell the rest of there gas while they perfect the technology and have it completely ready for the market by the time they run out of gas.
That would piss off so many people, but theres really nothing they can do about it right? A patent is fair play no matter what circumstances...

You'd need a fair amount of power to put out those radio waves in the first place. At least, radio waves with enough power to cause this.

Thats just stupid, there a fucking huge oceans surrounding all land and are obviously easily accesible, how can they charge for seawater?

The idea is flawed anyway because you need a shit load of energy to make the radio waves in the first place! (^^already said^^)

And this has been posted before somewhere.

but think about it. if someones car is powered by this device (lets just ignore the energy problem for now), and they live somewhere out in the middle of arizona, they arent gonna go all the way to the closest beach to get fuel for their car. so enter the middle-man, taking a bucket from the ocean and bringing it back to arizona, then charging a small (at first) amount of money to use it.

It sounds nice, but im not so sure if the saltwater reaction leftovers would be fantastically good for whatever it gets reacted in

It's like bio-deisel, good, but the process in which it is made/produced/whatever you wanna call it is ineffecient. (bio-deisel puts more carbons into the air in the production process, at least that's what discovery channel and google tell me).

Its the old Brown's gas routine again *sigh*. Sorry guys, its not new and it won't change the world simply because it uses more energy breaking the molecules apart than burning the gas produces.

I feel a right old git now

Brown's gas routine...  I'll have to look that up...  hmmm

Anyway, this clip reminds me of the one posted a few months ago about the car that ran on water.  I think the guy who made that died rather suspiciously after meeting some Belgian "investors."

Wikipedia has some stuff on it here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxyhydrogen

but there's loads of stuff on the Internet about it. Its a nice trick but not much use.

K... so you can make saltwater burn, you still need energy to make the radio waves or whatever...

But can you make it explode?  simply burning fuel wont move a car very far.
