The Reason is simple. If they make a game free to download but for raking youve to pay its ok.
But you cannot make a ranked game. sell it without information when the ranking system will stop and than decided lets crush it till death

second. the costs for this rankingsystem are not really high. specially for a company like this. its cost only transfer but transferings the stats (doenst matter how much information are in the stats) inst a big amount of data . in a zip file the hole stats of an 32 player server will have only a few megabytes each week

so there is no reason to say pay us again. i can understand if ea hosts the gameserver but not for statsserver.

by the way im pretty shure there isnt only a lack of play time in SF. ive this problem with inaccurate stats since 3 months
and still get no points for many servers and im shure ill never see them (all togehter over 10 k)
start to find another game

This happens. The servers were down forever. They are now updating. It's taking time. You will rank up, relax. Very few servers have EVER reported your score immediately.

I have probably ranked up about six dozen times by now, its just that you are so close to the rank, you get the rank, but the server has not yet sent your scores to the MAster stats server, so every round until the score gets tallied, it will rank. wow, calm down.

This is a post from one of the EA reps. This was her update today...so obviously things are not fixed and they are looking into it more. I am having the same problem many people are reporting....army times are frozen in SF, people not getting ranked up or getting unlocks even after reported stats issue being resolved....so looks like more tweaking to come.

Outside of weekends, not true at all. I've played on many servers and watched my points tally up in BFHQ shortly after the round was done (as in, less than a minute). On the weekend, we all know that there's a lot more playing, thus, the stats server will take longer to process stats.

They're updating, at least some of the time. Some of us question how reliable the stored data is these days, given that processing for the outage completed and many, like myself, have not seen any point increases from that outage let alone stats missing from the period from the time the server was fixed, to the processing completion of 7/9/2007.

I`m missing most of my stats, both from the outage period and the two last weeks.
If BFHQ remains at 18907 points when i update tomorrow i`m going to send EA a list of servers i have played on since the stats system went down and see if the by any chance can manually add my points - hey at least it`s worth a shot.

If your going to do that use this format, it may help I dont know, but at least its worth a try.

I had points update immediately tonight but no badges (only basic medic and assault for SF but still, I only just got the addon and I want to fill my chest with medals)

I've had about 40 minutes out of a zillion hours update correctly. I must've made about 1k points inside ~2.5 hours a few nights back (heavy scoring rounds ahoy) and got expert sniper twice, and it's still not updating (I usually play on the pornostars & kiffer(...) servers).
