BF2 CTD when doubleclicking/joining server

ok here's my problem: every time I doubleclick/click "join game" button in battlefield 2 to join an server, it crashes to desktop.

I tried to clean the bf2 cache files: no result
I reinstalled battlefield: no result

I searched, but couldn't find anything. karma and buttsechs for solution

when i reinstalled that problem went away for me.. anyway try to repatch 1.41

playing at low settings and lowest resolution, no result.

You did a manual uninstall, or just a uninstall?

(Try manual uninstall if you haven't)

Also try reapplying the 1.41 patch.

The crash when loading a map usually means a corrupt/ invalid file.....

It doesn't happen when loading an map. It occurs when doubleclicking/joining an server from the menu.

Reaplying: no effect
Reinstalling: no effect.
Lowest settings/resolution: no effect

any other idea's?

Spyware/virus? I had a CTD problem when logging in till I cleared up a virus or two.

CTD when joining a server... I have had that before... but can't remember how I fixed it....

Does this happen on all maps, or just certain ones?

just keep clicking autojoin until it makes a sound ---->,when it makes the sound ---->press join.

Ps if anyone knows a permanent solution(yes you have to do this every time)please pm me

you have to have the newest version (Patch) i had that once with Sandbox and i noticed that i didnt download the newest version(Patch)
Make sure you download all the patches
from 1.3 - 1.41
just fro people with the same problem as i dont think this guy wants any solutions anymore lol

Delete the dmp Files in the Profiles Folder and Delete your Server Favorites from the General.con file.
And make sure you got the latest Windows XP Updates installed on your PC !!!

I fixed it! I deleted the "bf2 folder" in My Documents! It runs perfect now! only thing that isn't working now is the stats, but that isn't a problem on my side

This problem just started happening to me today. I can't delete the BF2 folder because the compy tells me that another program might be using it, but I don't see any BF2 related programs.
