Aston Martin: Pencil Drawing

So I've been working on this for the past 2 days, and it's finally finished.
It looks better in real life, because it isn't so bright. It's got more of a dark tone to it. I could have changed it in PS, but I cba.
So here it is, hope you like it.

The shadow kinda got cut off on the bottom
Edit: It looks much better in real life. The black grill is actually filled in. I hate my scanner

Yeah, i had trouble with the wheels. I hate drawing oblong circles and spokes >.<
I'll end up screwing it up if I try and fix it

Yeah, but it's firggin' hard to find any good reference pictures.
I didn't draw this car outta my head, I looked at a picture (no, I didn't trace)

Google fails when it comes to searching Skylines. But I would like to draw one.

Yea, I looked at that one before. I may give it a try.
It's a photoshopped version though. The real car doesn't have such a low front bumper. The side skirts should be higher, same with the rear bumper. But it's do-able.

if so, here is some advice:

get proportions right. measure if need be, but with something as structured and symmetrical as a car, bad proportioning will ruin the drawing. use a ruler to measure distances between shapes and parts of the car to get them right, or use visual reference (ex. the space between the front wheel and bumper may be the same distance else where).

i highly recommend the use of perspective tools. this drawing would be two point perspective. simple perspective mapping would greatly increase the reality of this drawing and help with proportions. check out this tutorial for more info as i'm to lazy to explain it myself.

2pt car tutorial

if you're going to add value (in this case you have) make them match the value patterns of the reference. get all the lights and darks to match accordingly or the drawing will suffer. (in this case, it has.) if you're going to put black in, make sure all the black areas are black in the drawing, not just some.

ill leave it at that for now. not a bad start by any means, but it could use a lot of work.

Yeah, that was my reference, but it wasn't that picture exactly. I had a crappier quailty one.
Anyways, I did use a ruler to measure most things, and the car is quite proportional, except that the tires are messed up.

The shading is alright. Sure, it doesn't match the entire picture, but it's no supposed to. As long as I like how it looks and if the shading makes it look like a real car, then great.

As I said, the scanner lightened the entire image, so in real life, it is a much darker picture.
