Huntsmans? I get them all the time.
Over here, it's the redbacks you have to look out for. They like to hide under chairs and weave trap webs for ants and the like, and they're so tiny you don't see them or their webs until they bite you. Then you need assistance URGENTLY.
Fortunately, I've never seen a redback in real life.

......all those people that will squeal....do not even remotely think of coming here to Australia. the Hand sized huntsmen spiders are average. I hate spiders but i only hate the hairy ones. huntsmen arnt that bad because they arnt hostile and just pass through. But then you get those redback/black widow spiders that are the size of a 1 dollar coin(even smaller), but they can kill small children. iv been was bitten by one last year, has to stay in hospital for 2 days.....
The biggest one i saw was about two out-streched hands long sitting in the middle of my hallway....i shit myself ahahah, it ran underneth my oven and was kinda electrified/burnt.

I also see massive moths from time to time. And by massive, I mean their abdomen is larger than my thumb.
yeah they are called devil moths or something, about the length of a hand.some_random_panda wrote:

There was a wolf spider in my shower once, and it was about 4-5 inches in length, so I went and got a pack of firefrackers, lit em' and chucked them at that fuckin thing. It died. lol
( i fucking hate spiders )

House spiers I don't mind, I just hate Recluse spiders. They're not as deadly as the Wandering Spider, but their bite-wounds are terribly painful and to be honest, gross. Also while there is a anti-venom for the Wandering Spider I'm fairly sure there's still no anti-venom for the Recluse Spider.
The thing tha jumps out and scares people in NZ is the Weta. My dad hates them, but I actually like them. They're neat.

Yeah yeah i've had spiders that big in my house, huntsmen are pretty common in Queensland, i still get shit scared of them,
but i catch them in tuppaware containers and put them outside, bit of a buzz doing shit that scares you!
And it feels good to know that fear didn't overcome common sense, how scared do you think the spider is of something as big as we are?
And being non poisonous!....................Jeeeez

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
yummy! i could eat that down to the bone right now, just needs sum ketchup
My method of killing small spiders is getting a piece of clear tape and taping the sipder.
Let the spider liver, but not escape.
A few days later, it would be dead, due to the lack of oxygen.
But seriously, spiders in LA ain't bad.
Kinda cuddly, actually.
The house spiders are actually quite helpful to you, for they aren't that poisonous, and will eat houseflies for you.

I couldn't care less about small spiders. I've never had any real experience of big spiders, but I can imagine being quite squeamish about them.
