I dont really think it's the POINT that this is pepsi. "fake labels" are EVERYWHERE. I mean seriously, in India I bought a pack of smokes (locally produced) and they said "made in switzerland" because that's what it says on the pack that they copied !!!! I happened to HAVE a pack made in switzerland on me, and the packs weren't even identical. In parts of Indonesia, cars drive around with labels "mercedes", "ferrari" etc. And the drivers don't even know it's a brand of car (!)
It's probably been YEARS since those bottles in the picture have ever had real pepsi in them (or coke, if that was the leading brand in that part of the world at the time), this is just how some of the small businesses make cola in Asia. In fact, these guys have probably never even SEEN a real pepsi (or coke) EVER. I'll bet those bottles are from the 60'ies !
And for the record, local colas STILL contain high amounts of carbondioxide, so it IS safe to drink, no bacteria survive contact with the acid.
AND at least they CLEAN their bottles. I've heard of plenty of examples of bottles that have not been properly cleaned in the US and Europe where autmated factories are used.
AND for the record, it's proven that a recyclable GLASS bottle is both cheaper, more energy efficient and better for the environment than both plastic and tin. Both because of longer life expectancies, less waste and by products in manufacturing and remanufacturing, and is a biodegradable material. So dont go dis'ing the glass bottles. They're made to LAST.
