drop both fighter jet bombs, rearm but only pick up one bomb and drop it
now rearm and you will be in single bomb mode
repeat to return to double bomb mode
now rearm and you will be in single bomb mode

You mean just to pick up one?! And then fly with one and if that one is dropped be left with nothing?! I think then 2 is better!
There is the tap the key solution... Then you only tap the bomb key once not hold it... (very fast!)
