There is probably an easier way to do it as you said, such as using the Patch Tool, but this one seems nice and neat.

I liked it. The spoken instructions and full screen view made it very easy to follow, and I look forward to more tutorials in the same fashion but on more advanced techniques.

Youtube will ruin the Quality. (Widescreen 16:9) Uber resolution. (Thanks to h.264 quicktime mov)

Quicktime opened the video with full 1680x1050 resolution.

Have you played with Adobe Captivate? I have made a few (Non graphical) tutorials with it.
BTW it was funny to watch you fiddle back and forth with the gradient fade trying to get it just right. I do the same thing, it always takes me more tries than I would like.

The movie was shot in my native 1680x1050 movie, using the H.264 codec. And seeing as it's size is around 22 MB it's not bad.
Im thinking of makin several Tutorials, perhaps a bit more professionally focused (Illustrator, Indesign) because tbh im not that great with photoshop.
