LSD, Psilocybin mushrooms. There great and have a less toxicity rating than nicotine, alcohol and caffeine. Psilocybin mushrooms are not toxic. The National Institute For Occupational Safety And Health (NIOSH) in the US rated Psilocybin (641) is less toxic than Aspirin (199) and Nicotine (21).usmarine2005 wrote:

I used to take hallucinogens all the time. 3-4 days a week in high school. I don't think they should be legalized per say, but you should be able to use them in a controlled environment. There are real world applications for hallucinogens/Ecstasy from my experience, but there is also a high risk of misuse.Ashford wrote:

What it should say:citricacidx wrote:
If legalized:
A - it would be taxed like alcohol and tobacco.
B - more money would be put back into the economy instead of the black market
C - less money would be spent in the judicial system arresting, jailing, trying and wasting tax payer money.
A + B + C = Lots of doped up people, people missing work because of being 'high', people driving under the influence of drugs, people causing shit because they're under the influence, people growing it in their garden selling it illegally even more than before......I could go on all day.
/epicfail.

There's no legitimate reason for pot being banned, but it's not gonna change. Bottom line.

Im not going to take it up (and I must admit it didn't really do much for me when I actually did try it), but if what you guys say is partially true then I can't see it being a HUGE problem.
I still think there needs to be a big 'once and for all' study before it gets a general legalisation.
As long as the law is sensible and workable (which will always be the stumbling block) the big problems wont materialise.

it seems weed is healthier than tobacco, but the Feds don't like it.....it's all money and politics at this point.
Honestly, there is no reason for it to remain illegal.. it doesn't cause health problems, it is the US largest cash crop and it could be generating a lot of money for the government if they could get over themselves and legalize it.
Exactly, it's all about the multi billion dollar cooperations.amak1131 wrote:

O don't get me wrong hallucinogens should not be abused. Maybe 1-4 months between each "journey".KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I'm 44, puffed for over 20 years. Over that time I have seen 2 (possibly 1%) that should not puff due to a predisposition to Bi-polar, causing them to feel uncomfortable when stoned.
Wait til you're old enough to control any possible panic attacks, and you'll find pot a much better "relaxant" than alcohol any day.
And for those who spout the de-motivation bit, I STILL play amateur football and hold down a federal govt. job. I read constantly and retain most of it, and drive equally well straight or bent, again due to EXPERIENCE.
Ask your Grandad, kiddies....
^ Yes
like i said, age restriction, laws against underage use. you shouldn't be smoking pot when you're not old enough to use it responsibly.

At the same time, the drug "education" programs we have here are ridiculous. At least the Sex-Ed classes educate you as to the details before they tell you not to do it. Drug education is just scare propaganda. Remember the stories they feed you? "There are evil grungy strangers in the park trying to give you candy laced with drugs!" Or the quintessential "I saw a guy who took so much LSD he thought he was a glass of orange juice so you couldn't push him over or he would die!"citricacidx wrote:

Don't spill him! One of my favorite ones from back in the day, that could just as easily be in the DARE programs today:KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

An entire family was murdered by a youthful addict in Florida. When officers arrived at the home, they found the youth staggering about in a human slaughterhouse. With an axe he had killed his father, mother, two brothers, and a sister. He seemed to be in a daze… He had no recollection of having committed the multiple crime. The officers knew him ordinarily as a sane, rather quiet young man; now he was pitifully crazed. They sought the reason. The boy said that he had been in the habit of smoking something which youthful friends called “muggles,” a childish name for marijuana.
Why is it as soon as a thread opens up like this, you always get the morons that try to debate the fact that its bad for you, even though they haven't tried it, or have and flaked out like a little bitch, hence the reason why they don't like the subject. FUCKING FAGS.
I hate it when i role a joint,
And pass it to somebody,
who ain't got weed,
but they wanna be up in the party,
laughing and giggling,
sipping on a Heine,
Son you need a tic-tac your breath is going to blind me.

Get high on life! Climb Mount Everest and let the thin air alter your consciousness. Bah! Tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, and all things of that nature are foolish and unnecessary.

You know, this reminds me of an article I was reading in US News & World Reports about the president of Middlebury College advocating a repeal of the Legal Age 21 law.
Here is the editorial - http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/artic … 5/23qa.htm
He makes some good arguments, many of which could apply to this debate.
I couldn't agree more.Public policy should not be to try to change deeply seated human behavior. The goal should be to create the safest possible environment for that reality to take place.
Although his attribution of binge drinking to the drinking age of 21 is dubious. The UK has a big binge drinking problem and here you can buy alcohol from the age of 18, if in a restaurant having a meal you can drink alcohol (not spirits) with your meal from the age of 16. At home parents can give their children alcohol if they choose to do so.
I've been drinking alcohol since I was 9 or 10, which seems perfectly natural to me. Not drinking anything till you are 21 seems bizarre to me. How do you get introduced gradually to drinking culture and learn how to enjoy these things responsibly. A good bottle of wine can turn a good meal into a great one.
me, all i say i lulz at the people want to use marijuana for "medical purposes" when given the "medical version" of it they actually complain that they "don't get a heavy enough buzz" despite that it did relieve their pain. all i say is this if its going to be legalized- then fine smoke and get high but be careful when driving. I don't worry about your life i just worry about the lives of me and my loved ones, same goes with drinking. you going to do it? do with responsibility.

Which is why there would be laws against driving while high. I don't condone driving while high, but research done by the DOT has shown that people who drive under the influence of marijuana are actually less likely to get into an accident because they are aware that they are intoxicated and tend to slow down.
Well, for all you people who seem to think that smoking weed is good for you, I sure as hell hope you're right... Because apparently what you're doing now will effect your children's, and possibly your children's children's genes.
Neat stuff called epigenetics -- the reason why identical twin's DNA differs after decades of different choices and according to a recent show I saw could potentially effect decedents down the line. Give new meaning to "puff puff pass" eh?

New meaning? You mean the lack of meaning rather...beacuse uhhh you didn't even let us know what is going to be "passed" to my children via my usage of a chemical that isn't altering my sperm cell's DNA or a woman's Ovum.CommieChipmunk wrote:
