Ok well it's just plain creepy, but some cops in my area just "busted" some kids for sharing too much info on MySpace via school and town. They called like two kids up during school along with their parents. I deleted my pics and info and like half the people in my town deleted their MySpaces altogether. I should probably tell everyone that doesn't know that MySpace is just another one of those internet blog things like LiveJournal or Xanga. Yeah I guess what the cops are doing is sort of good but...well I got nothing against it, as long as they don't call my parents up.

How much information?
myspace.com is owned by Fox newscorp.
Only the part about having an affair with a goat, and the pictures to prove it. They should be ashamed of themselves. Thats just wrong.
like what school they go to...yeah that i'll admit is lil dumb. But like towns and contact information like phone numbers...and in rare occassions the actual street or vicinity that they live in their profile.
What does it have to do with BF2?
srry buddy, but when I decided to post here I read:
Current Events
What's going on; in your life, in your area?
ummm, srry but I didn't see anything about BF2 but if it helps, my one friend that hates bf2 hates MySpace?

Myspace is pretty lame anyway. Seriously, but if you don't mind putting every last detail about yourself on a webpage to the entire world, then hey, don't you dare complain when some rapist, murderer, stalker, child molester or whatever starts showing up at your door.
Creepy? No. Those cops are ahead of the game, luckely for you. Thats a good thing their doing, it teaches them just how easily someone can locate a perfect target, know everything about them, and never met them before.
People these days just don't give a shit what they put out there, and unfortunately, some learn the hard way. Really, what would be more creepy, a cop showing up at your door letting you know about it, or some weirdo sitting in a car stalking your daughter on the way to and from school. It happens more than you people know.
The only thing the people who made myspace really care about, and any other e-phonebook like service, is money. Think they give a shit about your privacy? Think your yahoo, gmail, hotmail or any other public email service is safe? Think again. You'd be amazed at how many automated programs probe through all this shit. Not to mention companies cutting deals with other companies and government agencies.
This leads on to bigger things and is for another topic of discussion.
So, again, its nice to know someone out there is looking out for some pretty dumb kids, even if its the local police. They outta be thankful and not creeped out.

IMO, there is no point to myspace. You use your space to tell everyone about you and your life, but the only people that care about you and your life are:
a) Your friends and family, who already know about you and your life.
b) Creepy stalkers.
c) No one.
Edit: Oh wait, I forgot. The list varies slightly if you are a celebrity.

c) Slightly-less creepy stalkers (also known as fans).

I have myspace and use it pretty much every day, I'm pretty good at HTML so i primarly use it for showing off my skills at that. I also use it for keeping in touch with bands ect (I talk to trivium members regulary, Shy One, Necro and Mr Hyde ect)
My profile is all black with a picture of me in the middle and "message" underneath. Thats it.
I cant stand all the fucking emo and scene kids on there though, they make me sick. Thats what really pisses me off about that site.

Ok maybe I put the wrong idea across.
I'm not all for filling my page with oversized pictures of myself, poor grammar and OMGZ COMMENT MY PICZ1!
Just keeping it simple. Know what I mean?
I'm not sure how fun it would be to just sign up with myspace and just hang out in there. I actually already had a lot of freinds using it when I signed up and the only people on my page are people I personally know... not just people friend spamming everybody. If used that way, it's way better than just emailing friends or calling. It helps keep a group of old freinds in touch quite well.
Mreh blogs are fucking pointless and lame.
