Use a starting area with the best mobs or good grinding areas, or a class that can kill fast. A lock would be good for that.

Most starting areas each have their own excellent grinding areas. eg: Human - Defias fields. Gnome/Dwarf - Wendigo Cave/troll caves.Doms wrote:

Gnome lock is good dps, but from 1-10 you will have 0 downtime (ie: 0 time wasted drinking mana/eating food) with a rogue, whereas with a lock you may have some downtime

If you want to get a really amazing time, only play when you are rested, this way you gain experience twice as fast. This will however, take much longer as you have to wait to get your levels rested.
