BF2S Forums Info on "Stats not updating" ... and "Stats may be back"

Play for fun and not for stats?

Bf2's only saving grace is the stat system, without that there's not much to keep people playing.

Now, I'm sure that BF2's stat system does boost the player base a little, but If BF2 didn't have stats I sure as hell would still play it. And if you wouldn't, well that's just way lame that someone would play for numbers. Again, I sure do love stats, but they are not the sole reason for anyone playing.

Thanks for the link. I really hope that the stats aren't lost. Mine haven't updated for 5 days and its getting annoying. Also finally got my Crew Service Ribbon lol So I hope I get that.

Well it's part of the game. Each award is an objective in itself, like getting to the end of the level on a platform game. Sure, you can play without regard to some of the objectives, but then you're not playing the whole game, just part of it.

Take Gran Turismo (Play Station driving game) as an analogy. You can just play it to race against other people (similar to playing BF2 without stats) or you can play it and build up your garage (like getting unlocks), or get the licences and win all the tournaments (like getting BF2 awards). I doubt there'd be as many people saying "get a life" to someone who's trying to win all the GT tournaments, but with BF2 people keep saying it over and over again.

BF2 is fun without stats, but it's more fun with them. Anyway, I'm at work... just checking in to see if the stats are back up.

so, basically everything that was earned, is now lost and we have to re-earn it? correct?
