What does it take to keep a server full?

So, I'm not talking about another Karkand server. I want something special, something that attracts real players. Ofcourse issues like the server ping and the admins are not included in this question.

I'm thinking about Songhua or Fusshe. Everybody is always saying 'oh that map is soo 1337!111einz!' but when there is a server with it, I doubt or it will be filled by random players.

So, what map should be set up to keep a server populated?
Tell me what you want, I might set up some of the ideas.

any 24/7 64 player server gets a lot of attention.. just name it 24/7 <MAP>, get it populated once with friends, and let it fill up

Yeah I know that, but I'm not talking about ''another server'' but something that not many servers do, like 24/7 Songhua.

You'll need a miracle to keep a 24/7 Songhua server populated.

Don't think that's true, the hardest part is always to get it started, usually once it is filled it goes on for a few hours.

Why not run a "vehicle maps" server? Some of these are in expansion packs, but most players have them anyway (or you could urn the expansion maps on a separate day. Here's an example rotation (2 rounds of each)

Zatar Wetlands
Songhua Stalemate
FuShe Pass
Dragon Valley
Dalian Plant
Operation Smoke Screen
Operation Road Rage
Tampa Highway

Talon, I think when you do boosterpack maps in it, you get a lot of people disconnecting. Also, Zatar as start map won't attract many players. Maps are cool, but not popular.

admins are very kind/funny against bf2s members. Join that server and play! now!

Balanced teams can help keep a server full more than any map. Best map in the world ever with unbalanced teams=nearly half the players leaving.

We also do requests. If you want to play wake and the current map is sharqi, if the server is empty we will change the map. When full then im sry if i cannot pleasure you.
